Panther Hollow Dental Lodge is once again a collection site for the Kiwanis “Shoes for Kids” Project.
The purpose of “Shoes for Kids” is to provide new tennis shoes to any student in the Charlotte County Public School System (pre-k, elementary, middle and high schools). The shoes are administered at the beginning of the school year, and throughout the school year as needed. This past academic year 6,380 pairs of new sneakers where delivered to local children in the CCPS system. This program has raised over 44,803 new pairs of shoes in the last 10 years thanks to the support of our local community.
The “Shoes for Kids” drive will run from June 21-July 26. Shoe sizes collected range from size 4 toddler to 15 men’s and size 4 toddler to 10 women’s. Last year the largest request was for girl’s size 1-3 and boy’s size 1-3. The majority of shoes needed are for elementary school aged children.
The Panther Hollow Dental Lodge family looks forward to this shoe drive each year! We encourage our patients to drop off a pair of new tennis shoes for this great cause. Our collection bin is located in our waiting room. Monetary donations can also be made to Sunrise Kiwanis of Port Charlotte, 1489 Market Circle Unit 308, Port Charlotte, Florida 33953.
