June marked the start of our summer volunteer project with the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition.
The Charlotte County Homeless Coalition provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, homeless prevention, hunger prevention, and continuum of care.
They have a food pantry that distributes a three day supply of meals, as well as a hot meal program 365 days a year.
As an office we volunteer one night a month serving dinner to the CCHC’s guests. Last summer we saw on average 80 people per night, but on our first night volunteering this year we served over 140 people.
The CCHC has noticed an increase in the number of dinner attendees.
The Homeless Coalition is always in need of support. You can help through donating time, money or support. Visit http://cchomelesscoalition.org/ for more information.
