About Dr. Bender

Dr. Joseph Bender is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he attended the University of Pittsburgh. Following graduation from dental school in 1981, he entered a one year General Practice Residency in Gainesville, Florida and subsequently moved to Port Charlotte in 1982. Dr. Bender enjoys all phases of general dentistry but concentrates on cosmetic restorative procedures. Dr. Bender is involved with many of the outdoor activities Florida has to offer such as golf, cycling, exercising, and gardening. Dr. Bender's favorite activity is spending time with his wife Pam, daughter Lindsey, son-in-law Nate and spoiling his young grandson!

Dr. Bender has been fortunate to be the recipient of the Charlotte Sun Readers' Choice Award for Best Dentist for the last 10 years.

Dr. Bender is the past president of the Charlotte County Dental Society. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Charlotte Class of 2009, enjoys volunteering with Give Kids a Smile, Mission of Mercy, and has served on the United Way Community Impact Panel for several years. Dr. Bender is an alumni of the The Dawson Academy, having completed the curriculum in January of 2016.
